Pregnancy brings significant changes in posture, movement and how the body carries weight. As the pregnancy progresses, these changes can contribute to discomfort in the lower back, hips, pelvis and ribs.

Chiropractic care during pregnancy focuses on helping manage musculoskeletal pain and maintaining comfortable movement throughout the different stages of pregnancy.

Common Pregnancy-Related Concerns

Pregnant patients often visit us for:

  • Lower-back pain
  • Hip or pelvic discomfort
  • Sciatic-type pain
  • Rib and mid-back discomfort
  • Joint stiffness
  • Difficulty getting comfortable while sleeping
  • Discomfort with walking or everyday activities
  • Postpartum back, neck or pelvic pain

Because every pregnancy is different, treatment is adapted to your symptoms, stage of pregnancy and comfort level.

A Comfortable, Individualized Approach

Your first visit includes a discussion of your symptoms and health history, followed by an appropriate physical examination.

Treatment may include gentle chiropractic adjustments, joint mobilization, soft-tissue techniques and recommendations for movement, posture or home exercises. Positioning and treatment techniques are modified throughout pregnancy to keep you comfortable.

Treatment is only provided with your consent, and you are encouraged to ask questions or discuss any concerns.
