MYTH: Once you've had a Caesarean section (C-section), you'll always have to have one.

FACT: A common misconception that most women believe however, more then 50% of women can have a sucessful vaginal birth after caesarean. C-sections usually occur because their labour failed to progress or their babies were in a breech position. Unfortuately there are some circumstances which a women would be required to have another C-section; these include extensive uterine surgery or a vertical incision for the original C-section. These factors can increase the risk of uterine rupture during future vaginal births. It is always best to discuss your options with your Doctor/Mid-wife/Doula and even get a second opinion should your 1st response not be to your satifaction.
