MYTH: Sitting too close to the TV will ruin your vision.

FACT: Sitting too close to the TV isn't harmful to your eyesight, however sitting closer than 1.5 meters infront of the TV will increase the strain on your eye muscles causing your eyes to tire leading them to water and burn.

A tip that is recommended for sitting infront of a TV or Computer Screen is to give your eyes a break every 10mins (or commercial break) by looking off at a distance (approx. 20ft away) for a few moments to relax those eye muscles.  Doing this will allow you to continue enjoying your TV program or movie for longer periods of time.

If you have any questions on how sitting infront of a TV or computer monitor add stress to your spine and leads to poor posture. Feel free to contact Benefit Chiropractic & Wellness Clinic in Langley, BC at 604-534-7451.
